Anabel Romero, co-founder and co-artistic director of aLma.Maddr, is a multimedia artist residing in Los Angeles. Emerging from a spectrum of disciplines and cultural origins, her aesthetic is fluid and aware with a firm artistic voice. Anabel creatively produces every layer of the artistic engagement so as to create a universe around the concept and audience. She acquired a BFA in Voice Arts from the California Institute of the Arts where she developed an interest in music composition, writing for performance and creative production. Anabel is currently the Community Engagement Coordinator for LA Opera.
Christina Ward, co-founder and co-artistic director of aLma.MaddR, is a composer and performance artist from Texas who lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Drawing upon her eclectic background in music, theatre, visual art, and writing, she gives an attentive eye to the relationships between the different theatrical elements in a work, yielding a reflective, multimedia, and often dreamy style.
David Aguila, co-founder and co-artistic director of aLma.MaddR, is a Los Angeles based performer and composer from Florida. Aguila's work uses acoustic and electronic instruments, spatialization, and perception of sound, time, and memory which are conceptually abstracted to create sonic landscapes and performance installations. As a performer, Aguila has performed as a trumpeter with various ensembles around the USA and Europe as well as performing on laptop live processing instruments, voice and sampled audio.
